This is the second video in our series on SDG and art, in particular on how creativity can contribute to a better world. In our previous part, we discussed how brands like Patagonia and artists like Coldplay have played a role in improving corporate culture and live performances.

Artists have always been deeply sensitive to social issues, feeling a responsibility to support causes that resonate with them. Initiatives like Live Aid and the peaceful protests led by Yoko Ono and John Lennon have shown how art can drive change.

Today, fame has evolved, as have the activities associated with it. Many artists participate in fundraising campaigns for urgent crises, such as natural disasters or pandemics. However, in this video, we will highlight artists and projects that have a lasting impact, featuring Olafur Eliasson, Banksy, Lady Gaga, and Ed Sheeran.

Artists supporting education and inclusion

In the video above we talk about SDG and Art, analyzing the contribution of different artists. Many of them invest in education and social inclusion, acknowledging the financial struggles that often hinder artistic growth.

Born This Way Foundation – Launched by Lady Gaga in 2012, this initiative focuses on youth empowerment and mental health, integrating music and art into programs that foster inclusion and well-being.

Alicia Keys’ Initiatives: Keep a Child Alive Foundation – Supports children and families affected by HIV in Africa and India, integrating art and music into healing programs; She Is The Music – Encourages women’s inclusion in the music industry through mentorship programs and workshops.
